(b) The quarterly rate provided for in paragraph (a) of this subsection may be altered by the Deputy Chief Civil Affairs Officer.

(c) Nothing in this Proclamation shall be deemed

to affect any of the provisions of the Waterworks

Ordinance, 1938, or the New Territories Regulation Ordinance, 1 910, or any other Ordinance amending

or substituted for the same.

(d) The above rates shall be payable quarterly in advance at the principal office of the appropriate Civil Affairs Officer or at such other place as he

may appoint for the purpose. Notification as to

the times and places of payment shall be published

in the urban areas concerned.

(e) Where default has been made by any person in payment of any rate, the appropriate Civil Affairs Officer shall have the same powers as the

Collector of Crown Rent under the Crown Rent

regulations made under the New Territories

Regulation Ordinance, 1910, and the said

regulations, mutatis mutandis, shall apply to the

recovery of rates.

(f) The forms in the schedule to the Rating

Ordinance, 1901, may be adapted and modified as the
